Absolute Amazing

This product is LEGIT!! I have tried many detangling products and this is the best! I have two daughters with completely different hair. It Tames frizz, and holds curls for one, but also detangle with a nongreasy finish for the other with fine hair. Not to mention works AMAZING for my color-treated hair! I’ve read some of the reviews saying the scent was too strong and that couldn’t be more false. Can’t live without it!!

Searching long and hard to try and find the best shampoo and conditioner for combo/oil hair is a very common issue and I have a few suggestions and recommendations as a licensed professional stylist that may help.

The primary reason Daily Dose Conditioner effective for oily hair is simple: our scalp produces oils. Great oils! These are essential for the acid mantle of our hair and skin. They are necessary to maintain pH balance. Overwashing, aggressive scrubbing can cause dryness at the scalp, which will lead to your scalp wanting and producing MORE oils which makes it feel like your hair is getting greasy faster. The first suggestion is to brush your hair thoroughly from roots to ends, several times, to distribute those oils down onto the lengths of the hair. This natural oil is awesome for your hair. For me, I brush at night, after work, when I feel oily. I brush for a while, gently, with a boar paddle brush. Then in the morning before I shower, I brush again. This does two things. It pulls those oils down and debrides your scalp, prepping it for a great shampoo.

Shampoo and conditioner make a difference. I recommend washing your roots twice (only the roots) and gently squeezing the suds down into your hair lengths. Try to avoid scrubbing or rubbing your lengths though. Remember that shampoo works even if you're not scrubbing. It's a detergent, after all. Leave this on for about 60 seconds before a good rinse. Condition from the ends up, leaving only a tiny amount for the roots. Let that sit, ideally for over 3 minutes. This gives the conditioner, which has a lower pH to close your cuticle layer. Rinse very well with cooler water to add shine and further close the cuticle layer. I recommend the Redken Colour Extend, Redken All Soft (for coarser hair), and Kevin Murphy Balancing Wash. Please try to avoid drugstore stuff, as it's loaded with beeswax and/or carnauba wax, which will cling and coat the hair in a heavy layer that will weigh the hair down (IMO).

Dry shampoo. Ok, this stuff is a miracle. If you're wanting a great way to extend between washes and cleanse your hair, this is the way. The problem is many of us do not use or apply dry shampoo correctly. You must must must leave the dry shampoo on, untouched for at LEAST 5 minutes. Ideally 10. Then brush all the way through gently and repeat until the dry shampoo disappears. Then you can get in with your fingers and loosen everything up.

Finally, your ends. I like to suggest that when your hair is dry, use an oil (like Moroccan Oil) or a serum JUST on the ends. That will absorb and protect those fragile ends during the day. Remember that oils repel water, so I recommend this on dry hair to get the most benefit. I hope these tips ad tricks help! Good luck! :)
